NESN has you covered with previews for each and every game — with our next contest featuring some significant changes:
2025 StaffDNA Cure Bowl
Matchup: USF Bulls vs. Old Dominion Monarchs
Date: Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025
Kickoff: 5 p.m. ET
Stadium: Camping World Stadium — Orlando, Fla.
TV: ESPN
Game Overview
The Cure Bowl will feature two teams nowhere near full strengths, as USF head coach Alex Golesh and offensive coordinator Joel Gordon have already moved on to begin serving in those same roles with the Auburn Tigers. Byrum Brown, their starting quarterback, decided not to play in the bowl game and will instead serve as an assistant coach as a result. Old Dominion, on the other hand, will be without starting quarterback Colton Joseph.
Ohio (2024), Appalachian State (2023), and Troy (2022) are the three most recent winners, with the last six iterations of the matchup being decided by one score or fewer — including an overtime contest in 2020.
Team Overviews
South Florida Bulls
Conference: American
Head Coach: Kevin Patrick (Interim)
Record: 9–3
South Florida started its season with consecutive ranked victories over No. 25 Boise State and No. 13 Florida, though things eventually unraveled as they dropped winnable games against Memphis and Navy to take themselves out of conference championship game contention following their loss to No. 5 Miami (FL).
The Bulls now find themselves in one of the earliest bowl games on the schedule, without their head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterback, and with several question marks on the injury front — leaving us without very much to share in terms of definites.
Sorry.
Old Dominion Monarchs
Conference: Sun Belt
Head Coach: Ricky Rahne
Record: 9-3
Old Dominion is still looking for its first bowl game victory under head coach Ricky Rahne, who set a career high in victories (nine) and conference victories (six) in 2025.
The Monarchs, as a unit, can tie the program record for victories (10) with a victory in this one — tying the 2016 squad that defeated Eastern Michigan in the Bahamas Bowl.
