Key info: Chislehurst Glebe Women

0 3

Maidstone United Women return to league action on Sunday afternoon with an away trip to Chislehurst Glebe, following an enforced three-week break.

Recent fixtures against Long Lane (30 November) and Tunbridge Wells Foresters (7 December) were postponed after both opponents withdrew due to illness and injury within their squads.

Manager Tori Campbell will be hoping her side can pick up where they left off three weeks ago, when they secured a hard-fought 3-0 victory over Betteshanger Welfare. The Stones were made to work for those three points against a spirited opposition.

After being awarded a walkover for the postponed game against Hollands & Blair in October, Maidstone now sit two games and six points behind league leaders Tonbridge Angels.

Glebe currently occupy second-from-bottom in the SECWFL Premier Division. From eight matches, they’ve drawn two and lost six. When the two sides met at the Gallagher in September, Maidstone ran out emphatic 9-1 winners, with goals from Maddie Dale (3), Tori Campbell (2), Georgia Culpitt (2), Chi Madamombe, and Annie White.

Following Sunday’s match, the festive break begins. Maidstone will return to action on Sunday 4 January, at the Gallagher, hosting Kings Hill in the third round of the League Cup.
