Milan evaluate Gimenez future as Premier League clubs show interest
Santiago Gimenez’s future at Milan has moved into uncertain territory, with the club now preparing for the possibility of a January departure despite the player’s stated desire to stay.
According to SportMediaset’s Claudio Raimondi, via MilanNews24, the Mexican forward’s situation has shifted in recent weeks, largely due to the Rossoneri’s reduced schedule following their Coppa Italia exit.
With Milan now playing only once a week, Max Allegri’s attacking hierarchy leaves little room for rotation.
Gimenez fighting for minutes at Milan
Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic remain untouchable starters, and Gimenez has struggled to carve out consistent minutes.
While his representatives insist he is not pushing to leave, the club’s technical assessment is more pragmatic: his playing time is unlikely to increase without a structural change in the squad.
That reality has caught the attention of clubs in England. Leeds United and West Ham are both monitoring Gimenez’s situation and could offer the regular football he currently lacks in Serie A. Milan, for their part, will only move for another forward if the Mexican does depart in January.
