Official: Lazio reinstate Dele-Bashiru to Serie A squad and cut one player
Lazio have confirmed that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been reinstated to their Serie A squad list, but that has come at the expense of full-back Elseid Hysaj, who is now ineligible to feature for the Biancocelesti in the league.
Official: Dele-Bashiru back in Lazio’s Serie A squad
Dele-Bashiru suffered an injury to the bicep femoris muscle in his right leg during the Derby della Capitale against Roma in September, and after learning that he would be unavailable for several months, Lazio decided to cut him from their Serie A squad list and replace him with Toma Basic.
The Nigeria international is now back and fit, and as of Thursday evening, is now available for selection again.
It had originally been thought that Lazio would take their time before making a decision on whether or not to reinstate Dele-Bashiru to their Serie A squad, and that a potential move away from the Stadio Olimpico had not been ruled out.
For now, Dele-Bashiru will be eligible to play in the league, but it remains to be seen whether his long-term future will be in Rome or elsewhere.
