Celtics’ Joe Mazzulla Gives Neemias Queta Injury Update
The Boston Celtics will be without starting center Neemias Queta for Wednesday evening’s NBA Cup game against the Detroit Pistons as the 26-year-old deals with an ankle injury.
Head coach Joe Mazzulla discussed Queta’s injury ahead of Wednesday’s game.
“Joe Mazzulla with an update on Neemias Queta’s left ankle sprain: ‘He’s day-to-day…He’s gotten a little bit better today than he was when it initially happened,'” Celtics reporter Bobby Krivitsky posted on Bluesky.
Queta suffered his injury during Sunday’s win against the Orlando Magic.
The former second-round pick has started each of Boston’s first 17 games this season and leads the team in rebounds (7.9) and blocks per contest (1.4), as well as field goal percentage (.628).
Queta is also averaging career highs in points (9.3) and assists (1.7) per game, as well as rebounds and blocks per tilt.
