Marco Sturm Confirms Bruins’ Worries With Elias Lindholm Injury Update
Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm confirmed the worst when discussing Elias Lindholm’s injury on Monday.
Lindholm was helped off the ice after a collision with Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway on Thursday. Following the 4-3 overtime win, Sturm said Lindholm would likely be out multiple weeks.
Now, on Monday, Sturm gave an update and said the MRI confirmed that Lindholm will be out for multiple weeks, according to Boston Hockey Now’s Andrew Fantucchio.
“Marco Sturm didn’t get into specifics but says that an MRI confirmed what the Bruins believed to be the case with Elias Lindholm’s injury, and that his status is week-to-week,” Fantucchio wrote on X.
Sturm wouldn’t reveal what the injury to Lindholm is, but it’s disappointing news for the Bruins that he’s out multiple weeks.
With Lindholm injured, Marat Khusnutdinov centered the Bruins’ top line alongside Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak. Khusnutdinov scored the overtime winner over the Sabres when he was promoted to the first line.
After he was promoted to the top line, Pastrnak gave some advice to Khusnutdinov.
“I always say, just play your game,” Pastrnak said on Friday. “There’s the reason you get promoted to this line and your game got you here. So just play your game. I will adjust to you. You don’t have to adjust to me.
“But Khusy, he’s an awesome guy. He’s a very great kid in the room, you know, and everybody loves him. He brings such a positive energy every single day. So we couldn’t be happier for a guy like him.”
The Bruins will go on the road to play the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
