Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Reveals Shocking Response To Hairline Controversy

Surprisingly, Jaylen Brown’s hair has been one of the biggest storylines of the Boston Celtics’ young season.

Like many NBA players, Brown has changed his appearance throughout his career. He’s grown his beard longer and tried multiple hairstyles over the last decade, looking much different now than he did when he was drafted in 2016.

After sporting short, tight braids over the last few seasons, the four-time All-Star showed up to training camp this year with a much shorter haircut, essentially shaving his head.

However, Brown’s new look quickly became a major topic of discussion once the Celtics’ season got underway. His head left black marks on multiple opponents’ jerseys during Boston’s first few games, suggesting that his new hairline may not be real.

On Tuesday, the 2024 NBA Finals MVP tackled the “Hairgate” controversy head-on. He announced a Twitch stream on social media with the caption, “I’m cooked ngl (three facepalm emojis) Tap in”.

On Tuesday night, Brown proceeded to get his head shaved by three friends during a live stream. During the event, he called fellow NBA superstar LeBron James for hairline treatment advice in Turkey and jokingly blamed Boston fans for his hair loss.

“I blame Boston. 10 years of stress, the media, the championships. Y’all caused this,” Brown said mid-haircut. After all, he’s played in numerous high-pressure games and received a lot of criticism throughout his career, starting with the infamous boos he heard on draft night.

Brown will debut his new look during Wednesday night’s home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He and the Celtics will try to build off their first win of the season after routing the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.

Meanwhile, at least Cavaliers players won’t have to worry about mysterious black smudges showing up on their uniforms.
