Tom Brady Reveals Blunt Admission About Facing Patriots In 2021

After leading the New England Patriots to unprecedented heights over 20 years, Tom Brady returned to Gillette Stadium to face his former team in 2021. Brady admitted that it wasn’t any ordinary game.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion knows better than most how Aaron Rodgers will feel when leading the Pittsburgh Steelers into a Week 8 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers insisted he’s not treating the meeting with his old organization as a revenge game, but Brady took a different mindset when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers went to Foxboro four years ago.

Brady recalled playing against the Patriots during a “Fox NFL Sunday” segment.

“If I’m (Rodgers), I want to crush the Packers. I want to make that really clear,” Brady said. “Don’t tell this to Mr. (Robert) Kraft, but I wanted to beat the Patriots by 100 when I was at the Bucs and we played them. Fortunately, we squeaked away with a way, but that was the attitude you have to take.”

Brady fell 98 points short of his goal, leading Tampa Bay to a 19-17 victory over New England. He didn’t quite crush the defense either, completing 22 of 43 passes for 269 yards.

The Week 4 contest was one of just two games that season Brady finished without a passing touchdown, but he still left with a win. That made him the fourth quarterback in NFL history to beat all 32 teams as a starter.

Rodgers can join Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and former teammate Brett Favre on that list by steering the Steelers to a “Sunday Night Football” win over the Packers.
