Bruins Plunge On NHL Power Rankings Amid Losing Streak

The Boston Bruins (3-6-0) were victorious in their first three games of the 2025-26 season.

They haven’t won since.

After skyrocketing up to 10th on ESPN’s first in-season NHL Power Rankings last week, the Bruins have plunged to 28th amid a six-game losing streak.

Boston had opened the year as No. 22 on the list but cracked the top 10 following a 3-2-0 start under first-year head coach Marco Sturm.

The only two Eastern Conference teams lower than the Bruins on the current power rankings are the Ottawa Senators (29th) and Tampa Bay Lightning (30th). The Senators, who Boston faces on Monday on the road, are 3-4-1, while the Lightning are last in the conference with four points at 1-4-2.

Tampa Bay earned its only win of the season on Oct. 13 against the Bruins, a defeat that started Boston’s skid.

The Bruins are tied with the Dallas Stars on the current rankings for the biggest drop from last week. Dallas was No. 2 last week but fell to 20th amid a four-game losing streak.

Boston will look to snap their skid when it faces the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday at home.
