Knighthead (39 replies)

Anyone else feeling a bit disheartened about Knighthead purely from a footballing aspect?

Our recruitment is conducted by an ex player who had the role on the merit of the club having no money. We should have an experienced Director of Football.

Naive in the first season, got us relegated. Gave Rooney the role; a manager with a terrible record and surrounded him with inexperienced coaches like O’Shea and Cole..

Last season was great but ultimately brought us back to where we started.

Have Chris Davies a relatively new manager surrounded by inexperienced coaches.

A lack of quality in recruitment keeps leaving us with glaring weaknesses in the squad at Championship level. Happened in 2023/24, has happened again.

Asking Davies to play champagne football as principle to the point he is over coaching the players instead of encouraging a manager to play to the strengths of the squad.

Disclaimer - I am not critical of Knighthead for wider ownership and everything they have done for the club. They have obviously been brilliant at that.

I am solely meaning football regarding on the pitch, managers, transfers.

We have had plenty of talks about being “world class” at things. Nothing seems world class in the approach to the core of the football club which is ultimately football.
