NFL Experts Panel Picks Patriots’ Week 5 Upset Vs. Bills

The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots split their two matchups during both the 2024 and 2023 regular seasons.

Behind reigning MVP and arguably the current frontrunner, quarterback Josh Allen, however, Buffalo enters the teams’ Week 5 game as the AFC’s only undefeated team at 4-0.

Head coach Sean McDermott’s Bills are currently 8.5-point favorites (per DraftKings) at home against the Patriots, but the majority of Bleacher Report’s seven-person NFL expert panel is taking New England (2-2) to pull off an upset on “Sunday Night Football.”

The five analysts to pick head coach Mike Vrabel’s Patriots are Brad Gagnon, Brent Sobleski, Ian Hanford, Kris Knox and Moe Moton.

“After three consecutive double-digit-point wins, I get the feeling Buffalo could be in for a bit of a letdown against a feisty division rival that put up a fight in a 24-21 loss to the Bills in Orchard Park last December,” Gagnon wrote. “The Bills are just 1-4 ATS in their last five divisional home games.”

Both Buffalo and New England are facing potential injury concerns on defense.

Patriots star defensive tackle Milton Williams missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday due to an ankle injury.

Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver, meanwhile, hasn’t played since Week 1 and is nursing an ankle ailment as well.
