Chivu on Inter 3-0 Slavia Prague: ‘Important and taken seriously’
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after full-time, Chivu said that he was pleased with the attitude that he saw from his players during the Slavia Prague victory.
“The game was important and taken seriously. Our attitude was normal,” he said.
And on the team’s response to his coaching since taking over from Simone Inzaghi in the summer, Chivu said: “It’s a tightrope, you have to keep the balance. The boys always try to have fun, you have to have the right passion, but without losing focus or your attitude.
“To me, it seems like they’re growing, but they’ve behaved brilliantly since the beginning of the season.”
And on Marcus Thuram, who was seen limping after full-time on Tuesday night, Chivu reassured: “He says it’s a cramp. We’ll do some tests tomorrow and we hope it’s nothing serious.”
Chivu was also asked why he decided to make seven personnel changes for the Slavia Prague clash on Tuesday night.
He replied: “Given that we only had 72 hours between matches, I wanted to give the chance to some players who had been playing less, while also keeping a compact, quality team.
“I’m happy that I had the chance to give Bisseck and Zielinski a few minutes and rest some of the others. I think that some of them will have to go to their national teams and play two more games.”
