Tom Brady Accuses Barstool Founder Of Falsely Reporting ‘$75 Million’ Deal

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has seen the reports of his allegedly lucrative flag football deal, and he’s not staying silent about it. With Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy claiming that Brady received a $75 million deal to participate in an upcoming tournament in Saudi Arabia, sports fans and analysts responded with shock and awe.

But according to Brady himself, Portnoy should do a better job of fact-checking next time.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion took to X on Monday afternoon and directly responded to Portnoy’s claim, re-posting Portnoy’s reporting along with the following, humorous message:

“While we’re breaking news… Elvis is doing the halftime show, and babe Ruth is gonna sign some autographs for fans. Also I heard Dave prefers floppy pizza. Who cares about facts right?”

Brady, 48, has been in headlines recently for controversy surrounding his dual role as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and a broadcaster for FOX, a combination that some of the NFL’s other owners allegedly felt gave Brady an unfair advantage. Brady was not found to be breaking any league rules, however, and he continues to operate in both sectors.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Ryan McFadden recently provided details on the upcoming flag football tournament that Brady will participate in.

“(Brady is teaming) up with Fanatics, Fox Sports and OBB Media for The Fanatics Flag Football Classic,” McFadden wrote.

“Brady will play in a first-of-its-kind round-robin tournament featuring three teams of current and former NFL players. The tournament will take place March 21, 2026, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.”

“Among the participants are Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey … and Brady’s former teammate Rob Gronkowski,” McFadden continued. “Additional participants, consisting of professional athletes from other sports and celebrities, will be announced in the coming months. The teams will be coached by Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan.”
