Atalanta ready to welcome Lookman back after transfer issues and Nigeria duty
Ademola Lookman is expected to return to Atalanta’s training ground today, when he could train for the first time under Ivan Juric.
Atalanta are ready to welcome back Lookman after the Nigerian striker returned from international duty on Thursday.
Lookman ready for Atalanta return
Several sources, including Gazzetta, claim that Lookman is expected at the Atalanta training ground today, Friday, September 12.
The former RB Leipzig and Leicester City striker was frozen out of the team and trained separately in August as he had tried to force a move to Inter.
Atalanta, however, are not planning to punish the player further and from today, Lookman will be reintegrated into the group.
Lookman made the first two competitive appearances in 2025-26 during the September break with the Nigeria national team.
Lookman still attracts transfer interest
He hasn’t yet trained under the new Atalanta coach Juric, and it remains to be seen if he’ll be fit enough to complete an entire session today and be available for the upcoming Serie A game against Lecce on Sunday.
Lookman’s Atalanta contract expires in June 2027, and according to Tuttosport, he’s the number one target of Juventus to replace Dusan Vlahovic.
