Premier League winner reveals how long Benjamin Sesko will need to adapt at Man United

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged supporters to be patient with new striker Benjamin Sesko.

Man United completed the signing of Sesko from RB Leipzig this summer for around €85 million (£73.6m).

Ferdinand won Premier League six times, UEFA Champions League and many other coveted trophies at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ferdinand spoke glowingly about Sesko but also admitted that the forward will take time to adapt to the Premier League.

He said (via the Daily Mail): “He needs to get up to speed with the Premier League and that’s going to take at least a month before he can even start thinking he’s in a good enough position to put his best foot forward.

“Listen, he’s a young kid. He’s got huge potential, that’s not in doubt. But potential and proving it are two different things.

“It wouldn’t be right to say whether he can do it or not, time will be the biggest teller of all.”

Sesko has made three league appearances, all of them as a second-half substitute.

He made his full debut at Grimsby in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Sesko has immense potential, time is key

Sesko is one of the best emerging strikers in the world.

He has all the characteristics of a future superstar but will need time to adapt to the high intensity and physical demands of the English top flight.

He has already left players and staff shocked with his incredible work ethic at Old Trafford.

The Slovenian is usually the first to arrive at training and the last to leave.

After signing two Premier League-proven attackers in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, INEOS splashed out on a talent that could serve them for years.

He is a towering centre-forward with elite ball control and finishing ability.

His goal catalogue is full of powerful shots from outside the box.

The 22-year-old could make his first league start against Man City this Sunday.

He may not be heavily involved if City dominate possession but must make the most of his opportunities when they arise.

Any other club would give you a honeymoon period to settle in, but the expectations and scrutiny are high at United.

Every failed touch or misfired shot will be discussed at length by the pundits.

His Old Trafford career will test not only his talent but also his determination.
