Video: Serie A players shine for Scotland in 2026 World Cup qualifier
Serie A players showed up in force for Scotland this evening, as Che Adams scored on a Scott McTominay assist, then combined with Billy Gilmour to force a Belarus own goal.
There is an increasingly Scottish presence in Italian football after McTominay and Gilmour were part of the Napoli side that won the Scudetto last season, with the former Manchester United midfielder being named Serie A Player of the Season.
Serie A impact for Scotland talent
McTominay was again decisive for Scotland in tonight’s 2-0 World Cup qualifier away to Belarus, knocking down a cross for Torino centre-forward Adams to turn in.

Adams was involved again for the second goal, his delightful dink over the top nodded on by Gilmour, forcing Zakhar Volkov to turn into his own net.

Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson was also in the starting XI, while new Udinese signing Lennon Miller was a substitute.
It means Scotland are joint top of their group with Denmark, both on four points from two games.
