Battling Seagulls take point off TNS

0 8

AERON EDWARDS scored his first goal for the Seagulls as a battling performance earned the Bay a 1-1 draw against Welsh Prem Champions The New Saints in front of a 1,006 Bank Holiday Monday crowd at the Blue Turtle Arena,

After a goalles first half, TNS took the lead on 55 minutes, but Aeron forced in the equaliser at the far post from Louis Robles’ ‘deep cross on 69 minutes.

Chances were at a premium in the first half, although Jordan Davies had an acrobatic effort blocked in the area and Bay couldn’t make anything from a couple of corners.

TNS had manager Craig Harrison red carded as the players walked off at half-time, but the visitors took the lead on 55 minutes when Jordan Williams scored from close range when Colwyn Bay failed to clear a corner.

Rhys Williams made a fine diving save low down to his right to keep out a strike by Dan Williams and the Bay were level on 69 minutes with Aeron Edwards sliding in at the far post to score.

The Bay might even have snatched a winner, but Louis Robles couldn’t get proper contact on Matty Hill’s run and cross and TNS keeper Nathan Shepperd was able to save.
