Hibs.net Renews HCF Sponsorship For Grassroots Football

Hibernian Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that Hibs.net have furthered their commitment to our grassroots football programmes by sponsoring all the Community Club teams.

The sponsorship will see all teams wear the Hibs.net logo on their green kits and training wear for a third season, furthering the commitment Hibs.net has made to HCF in recent years. As champions of the women’s game and pledging to help at every juncture they can, the sponsorship perfectly fits into both Hibs.net and HCF’s ethos.

Starting their sponsorship a few years ago after hearing about the struggles facing the female teams at the club through icon Joelle Murray, the support from Hibs.net morphed from sponsoring one junior girls team into the entire Community Club.

“For us, it’s important to give back to the Hibs community as a whole,” Hibs.net Administrator Stuart McClelland said.

“You see the teams walking around in the kits and we think ‘we did that, that was us’. You feel quite good about doing it and seeing the difference it makes.”

Hibs.net was set up in 1994 as a fan forum, designed to engage Hibs fans in general discussions about the club. In its 30+ year history over five million have visited the site, and currently 3,000 are registered. It is run by a group of dedicated administrators who care deeply about the Football Club, HCF, and giving fans a space to connect with one another.

“I am a football fan, part of a community. Hibs gives us so much and the Foundation is fantastic, bringing people together, so it is really important to give back,” said John Robertson, Hibs.net administrator. “It’s nice to think we played a small part in helping out and giving back.”

“We’d like to extend our thanks to the users of the site and particularly our private members for their continued support and making such opportunities possible,” added administrator Jill Sinclair.

With Hibs.net’s generous donation, Hibernian Community Club has been able to provide new kit to junior teams who previously would have to reuse old, unmatching team wear.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to have Hibs.net’s continued support,” said Hibernian Community Club Development Manager Paul Doig.

“With their commitment we have been able to provide new kit to players in a range of age groups. Keeping all teams and ages matching is a small but vital detail, and we’ve been able to do that through this sponsorship.”

Hibernian Community Club currently has over 20 teams playing under its badge, from ages 5 to 16yrs old. Overall, the club has over 250 players, and is ever expanding its offer with a senior women’s team to commence in the coming weeks.
