Atalanta and Roma chase Brighton forward Enciso
Serie A clubs Atalanta and Roma are both interested in signing Brighton forward Julio Enciso, with reports from Italy claiming both sides are prepared to use an open slot for a non-EU player on the Paraguayan.
According to what has been reported by SportMediaset, both clubs are making a concrete move for the player, with Atalanta already receiving a ‘no’ from Brighton in January.
Enciso is currently injured, however, after undergoing surgery following a knee injury that should see him out for the next couple of months.
Roma and Atalanta eye Enciso for non-EU slot
Both Roma and Atalanta have a slot open for a non-EU player to be registered in their squad and both sides are seriously considering the Brighton forward as suitable for this role.
Enciso, 21, spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan with Ipswich Town, where he played 13 times and scored twice – the most scored by the Paraguayan in a league season since his breakthrough with the Seagulls in 2022-23.
