Inter focus on Akliouche as possible Lookman alternative
With Atalanta still holding out on Ademola Lookman, L’Equipe report that Inter have asked after AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche.
The Nerazzurri still see the Nigeria international as their first choice for the role, but the refusal of Atalanta to consider the €45m offer has prompted them to at least think about some alternatives.
Akliouche an expensive option for Inter
According to French site L’Equipe, one of their targets is Akliouche, a 23-year-old who has six senior caps for France and was part of their Olympic team.
He had already been linked with Inter last year.
A product of the Monaco youth academy, he progressed to the senior squad and last season contributed an impressive seven goals with 12 assists in 43 competitive appearances.
However, if Lookman is considered expensive at €50m, then that is nothing compared to the reported €70m that Monaco wants for Akliouche.
His contract with the club runs to June 2028 and he has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Liverpool.
