Queen’s Park will host Montrose FC at Kirkintilloch Community Sport Complex on Sunday, 10th August in a pre-season friendly. Kick-off is at 1pm
Queen’s Park will play their final pre-season match on Sunday as they play host to SWPL1 side, Montrose.
Queen’s will be eager to keep their unbeaten pre-season run going and will be full of confidence after beating Glasgow Women 11-0 last weekend.
Sunday’s fixture will also be The Spiders first match at their new home stadium.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Head Coach, Iain Robinson, said: “Montrose will provide us with a difficult test. We found games against them last year tough, so it will be good to see where we are at with the league starting next week.
“Performances throughout pre-season have been excellent, and we are hoping to see that continue tomorrow.”
One of the big talking points from last Sunday’s match was the goal involvements created by the trialist right winger and the returning Sophie Rutherford. When asked about the squad depth in attack, Iain said: “Sophie coming back in is a big positive for us. She was excellent last year and was often our main attacking outlet.
“With more additions in attacking areas, we’re hoping to increase competition for places with the ultimate aim of improving every player in these areas.
“Players know that there will be tougher competition now, to start with the new additions to the squad.”
Sunday’s fixture is open to spectators. The entry fee is £7.
