Man Utd have agreed deal with AC Milan for £40m star's exit, await player decision - report

Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that United have opened the door for Rasmus Hojlund’s loan move to AC Milan with an option to buy at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Red Devils have agreed to the formula on the table. Milan are at the ‘forefront’ to sign the £40 million-rated star, but the player’s approval is still pending.

Hojlund could be enticed to return to Serie A

The Denmark international endured a difficult second year with the Red Devils. He managed just four goals from 32 appearances in the Premier League.

Hence, it is unsurprising that United have opted to sign Sesko as an upgrade. The 22-year-old is slightly better with the ball at his feet and can high-press opponents.

He also possesses sheer pace on the counter-attack and does not shy away from unleashing long-range shots. He has scored plenty of jaw-dropping goals in his career.

Hojlund has said that he wants to fight for his place at United, but he could be a regular substitute as Sesko is expected to be Ruben Amorim’s first-choice striker.

With no European competition, Sesko could be starting every game upfront, barring an injury.

Keeping this in mind, it makes sense for Hojlund to part ways with United. He had a good track record in Serie A and could prosper in a more tactical and less intense league.

Milan have opened the door for his transfer, and it remains to be seen whether the former Atalanta man will consider a return to the Italian top-flight with the Rossoneri.
