Report Hojlund price tag set higher by Manchester United for Milan
Milan are in talks with Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund, boosted by the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, but new reports suggest the asking price is far more than previously thought.
The Rossoneri had already turned towards Hojlund before today’s breakthrough, when Manchester United shook hands with RB Leipzig for Sesko.
That striker landed in England this evening and will complete his medical tomorrow, with a deal worth a reported €76.5m plus €8.5m in easy to achieve add-ons, taking the total package to €85m.
Hojlund too expensive for Milan
With that kind of expenditure, Manchester United need to bring in fresh funds from the sale of Hojlund, and that could be a problem for Milan.
According to talkSPORT, their asking price for the ex-Atalanta striker is now £40m, circa €46m, rather than the previously rumoured €30-35m.
On top of that, Milan are looking for a loan with option to buy at the end of the season, which again might not be what Manchester United can accept.
The 22-year-old cost a massive €77.8m plus a further €9.9m in add-ons to purchase from Atalanta in the summer of 2023.
