Preview: FK Partizan (A)
The Hibees head to Serbia in midweek to take on FK Partizan in our UEFA Conferenec League third round qualifier. Read the full match preview below!
THE LOWDOWN
The Hibees suffered late heart-break last time out in Europe, after conceding in the final minute of extra-time to lose 3-2 to FC Midtjylland.
That result meant we dropped out of the UEFA Europa League and into the Conference League qualifiers – where we will meet FK Partizan in the third qualifying round.
David Gray’s side will take a lot of confidence from our first outing in Europe this season, and we bounced back on the domestic front – winning our league opener 2-1 away at Dundee on Sunday.
Kieron Bowie bagged a brace at Dens Park to secure an important three points and get his goal tally up and running for the 2025/26 campaign.
TEAM NEWS
David Gray provided a positive news update on both Rudi Molotnikov and Joe Newell who are both back on the grass following their respective injuries. It is unlikely that they will make the trip to Serbia, however, as they make their way back to full fitness.
Nicky Cadden missed our trip to Dundee as a precaution after he went off with a slightly hamstring injury last week. The Hibs full back will be assessed ahead of this one.
The Hibees signed Grant Hanley earlier this week and he has travelled with the squad over to Serbia.
THE HOSTS
FK Partisan reached this stage of the competition after comfortably beating FC Oleksandriya 6-0 on aggregate in the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.
The hosts have began their league campaign with two victories in their first two matches – winning 1-0 over Železničar Pančevo on the opening day, before beating Radnički 1923 2-1 at home.
