0 5

PREPARATIONS are underway for Queen’s Park’s first home game of the season in the William Hill Championship.

Arbroath are the visitors and Epilepsy Scotland, in association with Queen’s Park Supporters’ Association, are match sponsors.

The charity will also hold a fundraising quiz in the Black and White Lounge after the match and, pre-match, the Spiders will promote the cause during the warm-up – donning t-shirts designed by mascot Georgie Hogg.

Georgie met up with first-team players Matty Shiels and Cole Burke last week as they tried her t-shirt design on for size – purple tops to match Epilepsy Scotland’s colours, with a large black and white Panda on the front.

The animal motif, designed by the youngster, represents her support group ‘The Purple Pandas’ who meet online every Thursday and enjoy various outings and meetings throughout the year.

Georgie has raised almost £1700 for Epilepsy Scotland in a sponsored 2k run – and the charity will be fundraising on the day too.

But ahead of the game, the P6 pupil was joined by dad Crichton and mum Zoe for a look around The city Stadium that raised excitement levels as she looked forward to her big day against the Red Lichties.

Kieran Koszary, head of commercial at Queen’s Park said: “It was fantastic to have Georgie and her family along to the ground and to see her fantastic t-shirt design.

“We look forward to the charity’s visit and seeing her run our with the team on Saturday and hope our terrific supporters will support a charity close to the hearts of many around Queen’s Park Football Club.”

Epilepsy Scotland CEO Lesley Young added: “We are proud to partner with Queen’s Park FC for the 2025–26 season and deeply grateful for the support in raising awareness of epilepsy and, in particular, Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

“Through our Seizure that Stole a Future campaign, we’ve been working to shine a light on SUDEP and the estimated two lives that are lost every week.

“This partnership is a powerful opportunity to reach new audiences with vital information and support, and we look forward to celebrating the team’s success over the coming season.”
