Atalanta reject Lookman offer, demand 50m from Inter
Multiple sources are reporting that Atalanta rejected the latest Inter offer for Ademola Lookman, worth €42m plus €3m in add-ons, as they are holding out for the full €50m asking price.
The Nigeria international has agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri and is determined to make the move to San Siro.
However, after an opening €40m bid was turned down, Inter came back with a new proposal worth €42m plus €3m in bonuses.
This too was considered insufficient, as the formal response came in this afternoon, warning it was not accepted.
Lookman price tag has not shifted
Atalanta have made it clear they want the full €50m asking price for Lookman, even if that figure is bridged with the addition of bonus performance-related extras.
This is also because as part of the purchase of the player from RB Leipzig, La Dea owe 10 per cent of the profit to his old club up to €20m and 15 per cent above that.
Football Italia’s own transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà has said repeatedly that Atalanta would be swayed by €45m fixed fee plus €5m in add-ons, but Inter seem to have reached their limit with Lookman and are not ready to make an improved bid.
They are now expected to turn towards other targets, while Premier League clubs know the fee they need to convince Atalanta into a sale.
