Red Sox Fans Victim To Horrific Social Media Mistake
Boston Red Sox fans might want to consider filing a class-action lawsuit for what they had to experience Thursday.
The Sox, who were in the middle of trying to acquire a starting pitcher prior to the trade deadline, appeared to land the biggest fish in the pond when two national brands reported they’d landed Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan.
They did not.
MLB on FOX and Yahoo Sports both posted social graphics stating Ryan was a member of the Red Sox.
Again, he is not.
It’s another great example of the fact that being first isn’t more important than being right. MassLive’s Chris Cotillo confirmed that the only two moves made were acquiring starting pitcher Dustin May from the Los Angeles Dodgers and relief pitcher Steven Matz from the St. Louis Cardinals, with a source stating the two sides were “not even close.”
