General Football forum • Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It's been common knowledge for most of the season that he'll be available in the summer and no one came in for him. No one's paying him big money for an injury prone, one in four striker who's had no pre season. It's highly unlikely he's going anywhere as their main striker, they'd have signed him by now to get him fit and ready. The logic being that if clubs miss out on their main targets (which many will) then more will be in for him. His stock rises the deeper clubs go into the market having not got (all) the players they want/need.
There will be some come and go, 'well we need a striker but you need a job too' but any clubs will be in a better bargaining position than he will be, the longer it goes the less he can try and play one club off another, not that he appears to have any club to play off each other at the moment. It's supply and demand, and right now it doesn't look like there's a lot of demand for him.
