25yo United star now in talks with Saudi club, "multi-million" bid in the offing - report
Manchester United could extend their spending spree over the coming weeks.
The Red Devils have already made a huge outlay of more than £130m on three players this summer.
Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo have been signed, and manager Ruben Amorim may want more additions to the squad before the transfer deadline.
The club may need to recoup funds from outgoings to do so, and Voetbal International claim that Tyrell Malacia has received a ‘concrete offer’ from an unnamed Saudi club.
The Dutchman is presently discussing terms with them. If he gives the green light for a transfer, they are prepared to send a ‘multi-million’ offer for his services this summer.
Man Utd look poised to part ways with Malacia
The 25-year-old joined the Red Devils from Feyenoord in a deal worth £14.7 million three years ago.
The Dutchman had a relatively good debut campaign with 39 appearances, but he missed the entirety of the 2023/24 season after undergoing multiple knee surgeries.
Malacia was loaned out to PSV Eindhoven in February this year, but he played sparingly for the Dutch champions, managing only 696 minutes across all competitions.
The left-back has now been excluded from United’s pre-season tour. In our view, the Red Devils are most likely to part ways with the Netherlands international this summer.
He has entered the last year of his contract, but there is a 12-month extension clause. United would ideally prefer to offload him rather than prolong his stay.
The interest from Saudi is probably good news, given it represents the club’s best opportunity to recoup the fee spent on his signature during the summer of 2022.
Alongside Malacia, Antony could also move to the Saudi Pro League. The Brazilian is attracting interest on the back of a promising loan spell with Spanish side Real Betis.
