Queen’s Park v Cove Rangers – match preview

0 20

COVE RANGERS vist The city Stadium to round off the Premier Sports Cup group stage on Saturday, July 26.

Paul Hartley’s side still have a chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages, while Sean Crighton will be seeking a positive performance from his players ahead of the William Hill Championship kick-off against Raith Rovers next weekend.

As ever the match will provide another opportunity for Queen’s Park to enjoy their new home base for the 2025-26 season, and play in front of the Spiders’ support.

The Season so far...

qualification hopes in the Premier Sports Cup group stage.

Despite a high-scoring and morale-boosting win against Brechin City, the late goals conceded on the opening day at The Spartans compounded by the Bairns’ comeback on Tuesday night mean it’s a group stage exit, and no repeat of last year’s knock-out stage.

However there’s still something to play for, especially for Cove Rangers, who can still qualify as group winners or one of the three best runners up.

Josh Fowler

Despite being unable to progress Sean Crighton’s Spiders can still finish third, and every place counts for prize money as well as performance credits for the head coach’s selection for the William Hill Championship kick-off in Kirkcaldy next weekend.
