Red Sox Stars Removed From ESPN’s List Of Trade Candidates

The Boston Red Sox aren’t trading Alex Bregman.

It’s been obvious from the jump, but that hasn’t stopped some folks from prognosticating that a deal could take place prior to the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline on July 31. ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan did their best to put those thoughts to bed when updating their list of trade candidates on Monday.

Bregman was removed entirely after previously being ranked No. 1. Aroldis Chapman (No. 18) and Walker Buehler (No. 28) were also kept off the update. Jarren Duran, however, was kept on the list but slid from No. 2 to No. 4.

McDaniel and Passan clearly view the club as buyers, as they were listed among the “best” fits for several trade candidates.

Bregman and Chapman will be crucial to team success moving forward, so for as long as their in the hunt for a postseason spot, those two aren’t going anywhere. The Red Sox do have a logjam in the outfield, however, which goes to explain why their leadoff man wasn’t taken off the list entirely.

How do you feel about the upcoming deadline, Red Sox fans? Let us know in the comments!
