Milan identify Nigeria international at Genk in hunt for new centre-forwards
Reports in Italy claim that Milan are interested in striking a deal with Belgian side Genk for Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare as they continue their search for a new centre-forward on the summer transfer market.
The Rossoneri are seeking a new striker to compete and rotate with Santiago Gimenez, who joined in a €35m move from Feyenoord in January.
Reports indicate that Milan are looking for a physically strong and commanding striker, while Corriere dello Sport claims that they are looking for somebody similar in profile to former fan favourite Olivier Giroud.
Reports Milan interested in Arokodare
Wednesday’s reports claim that Milan are interested in signing Arokodare, a 6’6 centre-forward who netted 23 goals and seven assists from 45 appearances across all competitions in the season just gone.
Another enticing detail for Milan is that the three-time Nigeria international is expected to be valued in the region of €20m-€25m, which fits in with the average spend on a new signing from the last summer transfer window.
The Rossoneri also have other targets in mind up front, including Arokodare’s international colleague Victor Boniface, however, the latter is expected to cost somewhere in the region of €40m-€45m.
