Terry McLaurin’s Contract Dispute Fuels Patriots Trade Buzz

While the New England Patriots brought in four-time Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason, there is still plenty of room to improve their offense. And that’s something they could look to do through a trade.

Terry McLaurin has been linked to the Patriots through trade rumors, and it seems that something could happen due to his contract disputes with the Washington Commanders. He is looking for a long-term contract extension, and on Tuesday, he broke his silence on the situation.

“Yeah, I’ve been pretty frustrated,” McLaurin told reporters via NBC Sports’ JP Finlay. “I’m not going to lie. Everything that has transpired up to this point has been disappointing and frustrating. I want to continue my career here. I’ve created my life here. My wife and I have bought our first home here, so this has been somewhere where I’ve always wanted to be.”

“Just to see how things have played out has been disappointing,” he added, saying that he hasn’t heard from the team in over a month. “Without any progressive discussions, I don’t see how I step on the field.”

So, does he plan to report to training camp next week?

“I haven’t decided that yet,” McLaurin said. “I’m trying to take things day by day. I think that’s the disappointing part, where I was hoping up until this point that things would clear up more than they have. I haven’t made that decision yet. I just want to see how the rest of this week goes and take it day by day from there.”

With this situation, the Patriots should be making some calls and seeing what it would take to possibly bring in McLaurin.
