Tiree Burchill: Full-Time Hibs Move A "No Brainer"

0 1

Tiree Burchill is “delighted” to be back at Hibs and “so happy” to be back in full-time football after signing for Hibs Women!

The 20-year-old forward spent time in the Hibs Girls Academy during her youth career, before going on to become a league winner at Celtic and spend the entirety of last season with Partick Thistle.

Her impressive performances with the Jags – in which she scored nine goals during the 2024/25 season, including the SWPL Goal of the Season – made her a top target for the Hibees.

“It feels great to be here,” she told Hibs TV. “I'm so happy to be back in full-time football.

“I spent about four years here when I was younger in the academy. I'm so delighted to be back where I almost started my journey. I can't wait to get going.

“I think from the outside, looking in, it looked like a great environment, a great place for young players like myself to develop.

“Seeing the team's success last season, it was a no-brainer to come here.”

After progressing well in Glasgow at a senior level, experiencing Champions League football and playing for multiple teams up and down the league standings, there is a chance for Burchill to kick on further after signing a full-time contract with Hibernian.

With last season’s title-winning Hibs Women team made up largely of young talents, Burchill is keen to develop and impress in a squad that is looking to push on from their recent successes.

“The main thing I want to do right now is develop as much as I can. I feel like here's definitely the place to do that.

“Obviously, seeing there's a lot of young players in the squad and they've done great over the past season. I just want to do the same and hopefully I can contribute and develop a lot over the season.

“Back in full-time football is where I want to be. I want to get better every day, work hard. I'm so excited for what's to come and I just can't wait.”
