Journalist confirms he has heard substantial rumours about Tottenham and £45m Premier League defender
The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel has revealed what he knows about Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.
We know that Thomas Frank wants to bulk up his options in the full-back areas while also wanting to add to Tottenham’s homegrown numbers, which is the main reason why Spurs are interested in re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters.
However, the Lilywhites have also seemingly identified another homegrown full-back to bolster their squad.
It emerged last week that Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing Antonee Robinson, who has emerged as one of the most consistent left-backs in the Premier League over recent years.

A few days ago GiveMeSport also backed up Tottenham’s interest in the USA international and claimed that Fulham had asked Spurs to pay £45m for Robinson.
Sami Mokbel has revealed that he has heard substantial murmurs about the Lilywhites’ interest in the 27-year-old.
However, The Daily Mail journalist seemed a little unsure if Tottenham’s interest in the Cottagers full-back is concrete and how likely the North Londoners are to make a move for the player.
When asked if the Robinson to Tottenham Hotspur rumour has legs, Mokbel told Last Word on Spurs: “Yeah, I think it depends on who you speak to. I have heard that rumour.
“I’ve heard it pretty substantially, but if you speak to others, I’m hedging my bets there. I’ve heard there is an interest in the player from Tottenham.
“I’m not sure how advanced it is or if it has the legs to come to fruition. If it’s the basic question of do Tottenham have an interest in Antonee Robinson, the answer to that is yes, whether that has legs, I’m not sure at the moment.”
Why Spurs are unlikely to swoop for Robinson this summer
Several reports have claimed over recent weeks that Thomas Frank is prioritising signing a top-class winger and a central midfielder this summer.
While a left-back to offer competition to Destiny Udogie is a must for Spurs, it may not make sense to splurge a big fee on a backup left-back, particularly if Frank is not planning on employing a back three too often.
Ben Davies is more than capable of playing as a left-back in a back four while Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence can also cover in the position in the event of an emergency.
