Thomas Frank may greenlight Tottenham move for Chelsea flop after Bryan Mbeumo heartbreak

0 2

A new report has now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign a Chelsea attacker, but they are not the only ones in the picture to land the player.

According to reports, Thomas Frank’s main focus this summer is to strengthen Tottenham’s attack ahead of his first season in charge at N17.

Over recent days, it has been widely reported that Spurs are stepping up their pursuit of West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, who has now become the Lilywhites’ top target.

However, interestingly, a new update has now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur may be offered a chance to sign a Chelsea forward, who they showed interest in earlier this summer.

Tottenham have been offered a chance to sign Christopher Nkunku

The Metro have now claimed that Chelsea have offered Christopher Nkunku to Tottenham and two other Premier League clubs after splashing the cash on other attackers this summer.

Having spent big to sign Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, in addition to Liam Delap, who they signed earlier this summer, the Blues are now looking to move some players on to balance their books.

As a result, Enzo Mareseca’s men have let Tottenham, Man United and Arsenal know that Nkunku is now on the market.

The report claims that Spurs were in talks with the 27-year-old just last month and it is asserted that Thomas Frank may approve the signing of the France international after missing out on Bryan Mbeumo.

The outlet adds that Nkunku’s preference is to return to the Bundesliga but it is unclear if Bayern Munich will reignite the interest they showed in the player back in January.

Why Tottenham may be shooting themselves in the foot by signing Nkunku

Just a couple of days ago, The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea could rival Tottenham for Kudus this summer, but the publication explained that the Blues would first need to sell players before they can make a move for the West Ham star.

Selling Nkunku for decent money could thus open the door for the West London club to challenge the Lilywhites for the Ghanaian.

The last thing that Spurs would want to do is to aid Chelsea’s efforts to sign the Hammers star, with reports widely indicating that Thomas Frank is very keen on bringing Kudus to Hotspur Way.
