Liverpool Reject Bayern Munich’s Approach for Luis Díaz
Liverpool have turned down an approach from Bayern Munich for Colombian forward Luis Díaz, reaffirming their stance that the 28-year-old is not for sale. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, made the inquiry, but was informed by Liverpool that discussions would not proceed.
This marks the second time this summer that Liverpool have rejected interest in Díaz, having previously rebuffed an approach from Barcelona earlier in the transfer window. Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have also been linked with the player, but Liverpool remain firm in their position.
Díaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 in a deal worth up to £49 million. Since then, he has made 148 appearances for the club, scoring 41 goals across all competitions. His contributions have helped Liverpool secure major silverware, including the Premier League title, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.
Díaz played a key role in Liverpool’s successful 2024/25 Premier League campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists. The club’s owners regard him as a pivotal figure in their plans for the coming seasons.
Liverpool’s firm response to interest from major European clubs underlines their commitment to retaining core players as they continue to build on recent success. For now, Luis Díaz remains an integral part of Arne Slot’s squad as they look ahead to the new season.
