College Football QB Turns Heads With His Chick-fil-A Order
After winning the ACC and reaching the College Football Playoff in 2024, Cade Klubnik and the Clemson Tigers are hungry for more this season.
While a national championship might be what Klubnik craves on the field, the Clemson quarterback has much simpler desires when it comes to food. Like many other Americans, especially people in their early 20s, Klubnik doesn't deprive himself from occasionally indulging in fast food.
In a new Q&A with Chapel Fowler of The State, Klubnik addressed a number of football-related topic before Fowler closed things out with a question about food.
As it turns out, the writer ran into Klubnik recently at Clemson's on-campus Chick-fil-A, so he was curious what the star signal caller's go-to order is. Klubnik did not disappoint.
"My go-to would probably be the 12-count chicken nuggets, fries, an Oreo shake, then a side of the three-piece chicken strips with Chick-fil-A sauce and a little Polynesian sauce," he said. "And I normally get a side Powerade. If I’m really hungry, I’ll swap out the strips for a Chick-fil-A sandwich — no pickles, add pepper jack.”
That's a solid serving of Chick-fil-A. We wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a regular part of your diet, but Klubnik's haul sounds like a nice treat every so often, particularly if you have the metabolism of a Power Four football player.
After a trying sophomore season in 2023, Klubnik broke out last fall, throwing for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions and adding 463 yards and seven scores on the ground.
If the Austin, Texas native can make another leap forward in 2025, it's possible that Clemson can regain its place among college football's elite and maybe win its third national championship under Dabo Swinney.
"I came to Clemson to win one," Klubnik told On3's Pete Nakos this week.
