McGrath 'Can't Wait' To Play At 'Electric' Easter Road
Summer signing Jamie McGrath spoke to HibsTV for the first time after penning a four-year deal with Hibernian FC!
The 28-year-old joined up with his new teammates at HTC after signing a pre-contract agreement with the Club following the expiration of his contract at Aberdeen.
Intensive gym testing and exhaustive running could not stop McGrath from smiling on his first day at the Club and that showed during the midfielder’s post-session catch up with HibsTV.
“I’m delighted to be here,” he told HibsTV.
“The boys have been great from minute one. I already feel part of the team, that’s a big help when you come to a new club. I’m really excited to get going.
“I feel the direction the club is going is an upwards trajectory. Seeing how the boys finished off the season, the place seemed a great place to be. I’m excited to get going here.”
Rumours had swirled over McGrath’s future, with an anticipated move to Hibs finally sealed in February 2025 after numerous transfer links to the club over the years.
The 13-time Republic of Ireland was quick to praise the “scenes” at Easter Road over recent months and declared he would do whatever it takes to spark more special moments inside the ground going forward.
“This has been a long time coming. I’ve been linked a few times in the past. I’m really happy to be here now and looking forward to getting to grips with the place and settling in.
“This is where you want to be at the minute. Looking at all the scenes after games at Easter Road, it looked unbelievable. Hopefully I’ll settle in here and spend the next four years here, hopefully longer.
“I’m happy to play wherever, whether that’s in the middle, off the left or off the right. I’m equally happy to play anywhere, and will give my best to get the wins.
“I just can’t wait. Easter Road is a great place to play. The last time I played there was that mad 3-3 game before Christmas. The place has looked electric.
"I’m really looking forward to going out there and giving the fans something to cheer about.”
