Texas 'flex': SEC assigns broadcast windows to 6 Longhorns football games
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Southeastern Conference offered a little more clarity for the upcoming Texas Longhorns football season by releasing broadcast window times, but not that much.
Except for matchups against Kentucky and Vanderbilt, all of the remaining games for the Longhorns not assigned a specific broadcast will fall into the "flex" window, meaning they could be scheduled for either the afternoon or night.
Texas' game against the Wildcats on Oct. 18 will be a night game, kicking off sometime between 5-7 p.m. CDT, and the Vanderbilt game Nov. 1 will start bright and early at 11 a.m. That's the third and final 11 a.m. kick for the Longhorns in 2025.
All other kickoff times for the Longhorns' SEC games — Oct. 4 at Florida, Oct. 25 at Mississippi State, Nov. 15 at Georgia and Nov. 22 versus Arkansas — will be left up to broadcast partners to kick off either in the afternoon or under the lights. Networks for the games will be announced later.
