Jayson Tatum Drops Strong Message On Achilles Injury Rehab
The Boston Celtics’ 2024-25 campaign effectively ended when Jayson Tatum suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series against the New York Knicks.
Not only was the future of the season in doubt, but so was the future of the team. With Tatum now set to miss most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season, that could force the Celtics front office to make some big changes this offseason.
While there’s no doubt this situation is bad for Boston, it’s even worse for Tatum. In the prime of his career, Tatum is going to miss a large chunk of time with this injury, and he will have to put in some serious rehab work in order to get himself back into tip-top physical shape.
That work began almost immediately, when Tatum underwent surgery to repair his Achilles less than 24 hours after suffering the injury. Now, he’s staring at a daunting rehab process, but fans will be pleased to see Tatum share an encouraging update on his status in a post on social media.
“Day 25… days starting to get a little easier,” Tatum said in a post on X.
Tatum was in the middle of putting together one of the best postseason performances of his career prior to this injury, as he had 42 points on 16-of-28 shooting while also hauling in eight rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Boston would manage to stave off elimination for one game without Tatum, before they were blown out in Game 6 by New York. Now, they face a daunting offseason that figures to play a massive role in determining what the future of the franchise looks like.
Behind the scenes, Jayson Tatum will be vigorously working on getting himself healthy again. It will be a long road for him, but the good news is that the days are getting easier for him, and if he keeps on putting in the work necessary to get back on the court, that trend will continue over the next few months.
