Six of the Best for Louis Longridge
QUEEN’S PARK FC can confirm long-serving Louis Longridge has signed a contract extension for his SIXTH season with the Spiders.
The 33-year-old joined the club in 2020 and has subsequently turned out more than 175 times from League Two through to the William Hill Championship.
Now, under the watchful gaze of Club President Graeme Shields, he’s committed his future and says he’s raring to go when pre-season resumes in Sean Crighton’s new regime next week.
Louis said: “The stage I’m at in my career I want to be somewhere where I’m settled and happy. I’m enjoying my football and I know this club from top to the bottom – I’m very happy here.
“This will be my sixth season – there have been a lot of changes but I always want to be the best version of myself and I’ve shown what I bring to the team to everyone who has come in.
“So long as I keep myself fit I am confident I can show what I can do and contribute to this team.
“I’m excited to get back for pre-season – I’ve looked after myself to ensure I give myself the best possible chance when the hard running starts and the hard work begins under the new gaffer.
“There will be new faces coming in and it’s down to people like myself to guide them, be there for them and ensure they know how important it is to play for this football club, what it takes and setting out the goals for the season ahead.”
Sean Crighton said: “I am delighted to get Louis on board this season.
“He’s exactly the kind of character I need around the place and someone who will demand standards at the club.
“He is a breath of fresh air, a very good professional, very good with the young ones which is going to be important and he’s a competitor.
“I am also looking for continuity in the squad and Louis brings that in abundance so I’m delighted to bring him back in.”
