Red Sox Fans Will Love This Promise Made By Garrett Crochet

The Boston Red Sox are getting their money’s worth — and then some — from ace Garrett Crochet.

Crochet, acquired this offseason from the Chicago White Sox for a prospect package including Kyle Teel and Braden Montgomery, has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. The Red Sox knew this type of production — a 1.98 ERA and 101 strikeouts across 82 total innings — was on the table, but there was still risk in going all in for an ace who doesn’t have the longest resume.

It’s working out well, though, and according to the man himself, should continue throughout the rest of his tenure in Boston.

“I’m the same guy I was last year. I will be the same guy at this time next year,” Crochet recently told WEEI, per Rob Bradford. “Refining the results is the only thing I hope to change. I hope that mechanically and usage, I remain the same for a while. I think I have built my arsenal and kind of shaped it to be something that is timeless and this is a way I can throw the rest of my career.”
