Paris Saint-Germain vs. Inter Milan was one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season, but it ended in a one-sided display of dominance. With a 5–0 victory at the Allianz Arena, PSG stunned fans around the world. But does this result go down as the biggest win in UEFA Champions League final history?

Inter entered the final with one of the lowest goal tallies among the remaining teams, while PSG ranked near the top of the scoring charts, just behind FC Barcelona. Despite expectations of a tightly contested match, the French side took complete control from start to finish.

Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Desire Doue added a brace in the 20th and 63rd minutes, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu scored in the 73rd and 86th, respectively, sealing a comprehensive 5–0 win.

So, is this the biggest win in a Champions League final? The answer is yes. PSG’s 5–0 demolition of Inter has surpassed the previous record held by Real Madrid. That record was set in the 1959–60 final when Los Blancos beat Eintracht Frankfurt 7–3—still the highest-scoring final, but with only a four-goal margin.

PSG’s landmark win, led by head coach Luis Enrique, has now been etched into Champions League history—not just for delivering the club’s first European title, but for doing so in emphatic fashion.

Other dominant wins in Champions League final history

The 5–0 win over Inter is now the biggest margin of victory in a Champions League final. While no other final has ended with a five-goal differential, a 4–0 scoreline has occurred multiple times in the competition’s history.

The first team to secure a 4–0 win in a final was Bayern Munich, who defeated Atlético Madrid in the 1973–74 final replay at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels.

Italian powerhouse AC Milan also recorded two 4–0 wins. The Rossoneri thrashed Steaua Bucharest in the 1988–89 final and repeated the feat against FC Barcelona in the 1993–94 final, both performances solidifying their status as a European giant.
