Brad Marchand Pulled Wild Intermission Move In Panthers’ Game 3 Win
Brad Marchand took an unconventional path to fueling up Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena.
The pressure was on for the Panthers and the Hurricanes entering the third period of Eastern Conference finals Game 3, as Florida and Carolina were tied at 1-1 after two periods. But Marchand couldn’t have looked any less tense, as TNT cameras in the second intermission captured the former Boston Bruins captain diving into some kind of dessert.
Marchand proudly offered the details of his sweet treat after the game.
“Yeah, that’s a little chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard right there,” Marchand said. “You can’t beat it. It’s the best dessert in the world. So, I better get a lifetime free supply of Dairy Queen now.”
The spoonfuls proved to be effective for Marchand, who netted one of the Panthers’ five third-period goals in their 6-2 win. Florida now has an opportunity to complete a sweep of Carolina and punch its ticket to the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night.
And if Marchand is superstitious at all, he probably should stop at Dairy Queen on his way to the rink for Game 4.
