Rio Ferdinand left shocked by the physical stature of Tottenham star
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he never realised how big one Tottenham man was until he met him in person.
It is fair to say that, barring a handful of players in the Tottenham squad, not many of them have come away from this season with their reputation enhanced.
It has been a chastening campaign domestically for the Lilywhites, but one man, who was signed for big money last summer, has quietly had an impressive first season at N17.
Despite spending some time on the treatment table this term, Dominic Solanke has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions so far this season.

Rio Ferdinand makes an admission about Dominic Solanke’s size
Apart from being a fox in the box, Solanke also offers a lot to Tottenham off the ball, with his tireless pressing helping Ange Postecoglou’s men turn over possession in the final third regularly.
The Englishman is also deceptively quick and strong, and is always difficult to shake off the ball. The centre-backs he comes up against certainly know that they will be in for a battle.
It is Solanke’s physical stature that has taken Ferdinand by surprise, with the pundit admitting to the Spurs striker that he is much bigger than he realised.
After greeting Solanke and Chelsea star Tosin Adarabioyo, Ferdinand told the pair on his YouTube channel: “You man are big, you know? I didn’t realise you lot are that big! Wow!”
Solanke has been a brilliant signing for Tottenham
Many pundits insisted that Tottenham had overpaid for Solanke after the club shelled out £65m to sign him from Bournemouth.
However, the England international has shown exactly why he was valued so highly, having demonstrated his all-around game in a Spurs shirt this season.
Given how overpriced top-class number nines are in today’s market, one can argue that Tottenham did a very smart deal last summer.
