Ex-Patriots Cornerback Throws Hilarious Shade At Legendary Sibling
The New England Patriots revealed the jersey numbers for their 2025 rookie class, and one number elicited the reaction of not one but two former Super Bowl champions.
Second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson will be wearing No. 32 — the same digits as long-time captain Devin McCourty.
McCourty’s brother Jason took the opportunity to throw some shade at his brother on social media.
“Best I’ve seen 32 look in a Patriots uniform in a LONG time!!!” Jason McCourty wrote on X.
While it’s unclear if Devin saw what his brother said, the cornerback-turned-safety also posted about Henderson sporting his number this season.
“Can’t wait to see real speed in that 32 jersey,” he wrote.
Henderson posted a 4.43-second 40-yard dash as a three-down back. He was one of the best running backs in the 2025 class and came off a strong national championship season in 2024. Last year, he posted 1,016 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns, adding 27 catches for 284 yards and one receiving score.
Devin McCourty was not necessarily known for his “speed,” but he indeed burst onto the scene in his rookie season, totaling 82 tackles, 17 pass breakups, and seven interceptions. He was named second-team All-Pro and finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. McCourty started each of the 205 games he appeared in, totaling 971 tackles, 110 pass breakups, 35 interceptions, and two pick-sixes.
