Man United to resist offer for 36 g/a star amid link with Saudi Pro-League club

0 3

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been linked with a move away from Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Saudi Pro-League (SPL) club Al-Hilal have added the Portugal international to their shortlist of potential high-profile signings.

However, according to ESPN, United are determined to resist any offers for Fernandes. He has been in stellar form, bagging 19 goals and 17 assists this season.

Fernandes has won the last three editions of the club’s Player of the Month award – no player has won it more than him this season.

He is on course to win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the fourth time since his arrival at the club.

The midfielder has shown his commitment to United, resisting interest from SPL clubs to sign a contract extension with the Mancunian giants last summer.

He is happy at Old Trafford and has formed a cordial relationship with manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has also expressed his desire to keep the midfielder, stating that he is ‘not going anywhere’.

Fernandes’ sale would not bode well for United

The Portuguese has been Man United’s best player since he arrived at the club.

Despite the Red Devils’ struggles this season, he maintained a high standard, making him one of Europe’s best players.

Only Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has registered more goal involvements in the Premier League this term.

The Red Devils would spend a huge sum to sign Fernandes’ replacement, impacting their other transfer plans.

The club must focus on signing players who can complement Fernandes’ efforts as they seek to return to the top echelon of European football.
