Man Utd star already in talks to agree personal terms with Euro giants, Red Devils ready to sell - Sky Sports journo
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has expressed his desire to play for Barcelona and talks to agree personal terms with the La Liga club have already started, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The England international, currently on loan with Aston Villa, is working with super-agent Pini Zahavi to get the deal done, and the Red Devils are ready to sell their academy graduate for €35 million.
Man United have made it clear there is no way back for Rashford at the club after head coach Ruben Amorim excluded him from his first-team plans, and while he has impressed at Villa, the Midlands club are unwilling to retain his services beyond this season.
The 27-year-old dreams of playing for Barca, but whether the La Liga and European giants are willing to pursue a serious deal is unknown.
Their first-choice wingers – Raphinha and Lamine Yamal – will remain ahead of the Man United academy graduate should he join, while he will also struggle to displace Robert Lewandowski or even Ferran Torres in the striking role.
Barca have their financial troubles and could prefer to keep promoting and developing their youth team players instead of spending on a player who is not guaranteed a place in their starting XI.
The Old Trafford club will not care where Rashford wants to go as long as they get good money for him, and a decent sale will fetch them much-needed profit as they look to balance the books this summer.
Given that he is an academy graduate, selling him will represent pure profit in Financial Fair Play terms and help them stay within the confines of the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Getting his huge wages (£300,000) off their bill will also massively relieve the finances of Man United, and they will be praying they get good money from his sale in the coming weeks
