How Alex Bregman Has ‘Challenged’ Red Sox Teammates

It’s been basically a picture-perfect start for Alex Bregman in a Boston Red Sox uniform.

The veteran third baseman is batting a robust .326 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs over the first month-plus of the season. But the Red Sox didn’t sign Bregman to a three-year, $120 million contract just for his on-field production.

Bregman’s leadership was lauded even before he joined the Red Sox and Rob Refsnyder detailed how that has played out on the most recent episode of NESN’s “310 To Left” podcast.

“He challenges everyone to never really turn it off,” Refsnyder said. “When we grab dinners and things like that, he’s just constantly talking about the next game, the next pitcher, defense, baserunning. He’s the ultimate baseball guy and he never turns it off. He really doesn’t.”

There’s no one in the everyday lineup for the Red Sox who has the same credentials as Bregman. He came to Boston with a pedigree of winning, illustrated by the two World Series rings on his hands.

And Bregman will try to lead the way to another World Series title, this time with the Red Sox.

You can catch all episodes of “310 To Left” on YouTube and Spotify.
